Fujiwara Keiji, Nakamura Yuuichi, and Yashima Norito Co-Starring! Footage of the Movie "Dolittle" Dubbed Version has been released

From the movie “Dolittle” (premiere on Jun. 19, 2020), the Japanese dubbed version of the film has been released with Yashima Norito playing the role of Plimpton the ostrich, Nakamura Yuuichi as Yoshi the polar bear, and Fujiwara Keiji as Dr. Dolittle.

The released footage shows Plimpton, the ostrich character voiced by Yashima which makes his first appearance in the film, getting into trouble with Dr. Dolittle (voiced by Fujiwara) and Yoshi, the polar bear (voiced by Nakamura).
Plimpton shows up in a happy mood, saying, “What a lovely day! No plans, just chilling around, thinking…”. No sooner than Dr. Dolittle talks to him saying, “Plimpton, don't be scared. It's been a long time since I've seen you…”, he gets all nervous while flapping his wings and says, “I have a bad feeling about this… Humans say that when something bad is about to happen…”.

When Plimpton finally starts to rampage, Yoshi the polar bear, who can't stand it, grabs him by the long neck to make him stop and then says, “Dr. Dolitte is the one who saved your life! We're going to save the queen, buddy!”. The ostrich doesn't seem to agree with it, answering, “I'm not your buddy. You're going to be turned into a carpet!”, and then they start a small fight. In the end, Dr. Dolittle, who was the most worried about the situation, intervened by saying, “Hey, hey, hey, you two stop it!”.
This movie is unique in that humans and animals, who should not be able to communicate with each other, start arguing as if it were a matter of course. The lively and dreamy scene is both enjoyable and exciting at the same time.

Yashima also commented on his acting with a charming voice the character Plimpton, who seems to truly care of Dr. Dolittle and his animal friends at his own pace; “I've played many animal characters from anime series so far, so it was quite difficult to play the voice of a real ostrich this time. It took me a while to get used to it, but after that, I was able to enjoy playing him by doing some improvisation, which came out easily due to his chatty character”.
He revealed that it was exciting to voice him while figuring out how to give the right feeling and expressions to the character.
In addition to Yashima, Nakamura, and Fujiwara, the Japanese dubbed version features a large cast of famous voice actors. Keep your expectations high!

The film “Dolittle” is set to be premiered nationwide on Jun. 19, 2020.
