The first 3 movies of “Rebuild of Evangelion” will be live-streamed at no charge on LINE LIVE as the first part of a collaboration project between the Evangelion series and the social app LINE.
Evangelion and LINE did similar collaborations in the past, streaming the first 26 episodes of the original anime “Neon Genesis Evangelion” in celebration of the 2016 movie release of “Shin Godzilla”, directed by the series author Anno Hideaki. The event “Operation 0706” in JAPAN EXPO that took place in Paris in 2019 was also live-streamed on LINE LIVE.
The aim of the free streaming of the “Rebuild of Evangelion” movies is to provide the online theater experience to the population, finding themselves in social isolation due to the spread of Covid-19.
The movies will be streamed starting on May 14, 2020, from 9 pm. During the last day, May 23, all the 3 movies “You Are (Not) Alone”, “You Can (Not) Advance”, and “You Can (Not) Redo” will be streamed at once.
On a later date, “until You come to me.” and “evangelion: Another Impact（Confidential）” will be streamed on Japan Anima(tor)'s Exhibition.
