A spin-off of the Netflix original live-action sci-fi drama series “Altered Carbon” will be released as an original 3D computer graphics anime film on Mar. 19, 2020, all around the world.
The key art and trailer have been released along with the announcement of the cast members: Suzuki Tatsuhisa, Satou Rina, Asai Ayaka, and Nakata Jouji.
The Netflix anime film “Altered Carbon: Resleeved” is set 250 years earlier than the first season of the live-action series and develops a new story in the expanded world.
Ken (Takeshi Kovacs), the protagonist, and other characters fight fiercely for honor in a world where peoples' consciousness are stocked in “stacks” as digital information and, physical bodies are called “sleeves” which are expendable, making everyone not fear death.
The key art depicts Ken (Takeshi Kovacs) and Shinji, the next leader of Mizumoto-gumi, glaring at each other.
The animation is managed by Anima and the directors are Nakajima Jo and Okada Yoshiyuki.
The script will be written by Satou Dai, known for “Cowboy Bebop” and “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex”, and the scriptwriter Kondou Tsukasa, joined by the manga writer Ootagaki Yasuo, known for “Moonlight Mile” and “Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt”, as character designer.
The cast members are Suzuki Tatsuhisa as the protagonist Ken (Takeshi Kovacs), Satou Rina as Gina (Leilin Kawahara), a CTAC member who meets Ken during an operation, Asai Ayaka as Holly Togram, the tattoo artist of Mizumoto-gumi who is being targeted by someone, and Nakata Jouji as the holographic AI that is the butler of Mizumoto-gumi headquarters. Let's look forward to the acting of the talented voice actors!
