The main cast members Hatanaka Tasuku, Suwabe Junichi, Ishida Akira, and Suzumura Kenichi, and character visuals of the TV Anime “MARS RED” (scheduled to be broadcast in 2021) have been announced. In addition, the first PV has been released, along with the comments received from the cast.

“MARS RED” is originally a musical stage reading written, scripted, and directed by the playwriter Fujisawa Bun’ou, who is known as “the leading person in musical stage readings” for his many original works sent out to the world. The manga writer Karakara Kemuri, known for “Laughing Under the Clouds” and “Laughing in Limbo”, is in charge of the main visual.
The TV anime’s story is set in the Taisho era where it depicts the actions of “Special Unit 16” aka “the Zero Agency” of the anti-vampire organization secretly formed by the Japanese government

The cast members Hatanaka Tasuku, Suwabe Junichi, Ishida Akira, and Suzumura Kenichi will be playing the role of the main characters of “the Zero Agency”.
Hatanaka will be voicing Kurusu Shuutarou, a rookie vampire who is one of the strongest in Japan, Suwabe is Maeda Yoshinobu, a colonel and the strongest man on earth who manages the “the Zero Agency”, Ishida will be playing the role of Takeuchi, a mad scientist who enjoys his immortal soul, and Suzumura will be the voice of Suwa who had been living as a vampire since the Edo era.

The first promo video includes the voices of the cast, and by watching it you will be able to anticipate the world shown in the TV anime with the background music by Muranaka Toshiyuki.

TV anime “MARS RED” is scheduled to be broadcast in 2021. In addition to it, the MARS RED project, which is planning various developments, is currently looking for members of the fan club “Special Unit 16”.

My name is Hatanaka Tasuku and I will be playing Kurusu Shuutarou, a vampire who cannot accept the fact of not being a human anymore, and still has a weak mind of a human. I want to portray him with much energy! I confess to being nervous since I am surrounded by amazing seniors an staff, but I'll do my best! Looking forward to working with them!!

I played Maeda at the premiere of Fujisawa's stage reading MARS RED in 2013. I could never imagine that such a day would come. In the anime, new elements are added and the world inside it is further expanded. Please look forward to it!

[Ishida Akira as Takeuchi]

I am glad to be able to continue playing the familiar role of Takeuchi since the time of the stage reading. The anime adaptation includes a new story besides the original version of the play, so I am excited to know more about it. Please look forward to its release.
