The 5th season of TV anime “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma”, “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma: Gou no Sara” has been decided to be released on Apr. 10, 2020. The key visual was revealed at the same time with the announcement.
The original work of “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma” is the manga by Tsukuda Yuuto, with the illustrations directed by Saeki Shun and the contribution of Morisaki Yuuki. The story revolves around Yukihira Souma, a boy who runs his family’s restaurant in downtown while studying at the cooking school. The manga exceeded 20 million printed copies.
TV anime started in 2015. The 2nd season “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma: Ni no Sara” was released in 2016, the first half of the 3rd season, “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma: San no Sara” was released in 2017, the later half of the 3rd season, “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma: San no Sara” was released in 2018, and lastly, “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma: Kami no Sara” was broadcast from Oct. 2019 to Dec. 2019.
The key visual contains the appearance of the new character, Asahi, and it has a dark atmosphere unlike the teaser visual which has a bright image, letting you wondering what is going to happen in the anime.
In “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma: Gou no Sara”, the invitation latter from the world-class cooking competition, “THE BLUE” arrives at the super elite cooking school, “Tootsuki Saryou Cooking Academy”, where Souma goes. “THE BLUE” is an orthodox cooking competition where the young chief compete for their reputation. But this time the plot behind it is so unique that is completely different from the previous developments…!?
New rivals appear, and how “THE BLUE” is going to progress…Shokugeki which decides the chief who will lead the next generation is about to begin…!
The 5th season for TV anime “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma: Gou no Sara” will be broadcast from Friday, Apr. 10, 2020, on TOKYO MX, BS11 and other channels.
