The international animation movie festival, “Tokyo Anime Awards Festival 2020 (TAAF2020)” is decided to be held for four days from Mar. 13 to Mar. 16, 2020 in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.
Together with that, the applications for the “Competition Category” had started.
“TAAF” is an international movie festival that is developed and separated from the “Tokyo Anime Awards” which is a part of “Tokyo International Anime Fair”.
This movie festival will showcase the high-quality and filled with originality works among the others in the world with the tagline of “Tokyo is the animation hub”, purposes of “To find and train candidate that will handle the next generation animation production, and to develop and promote the culture and industry of Tokyo's animation” and also “To promote Tokyo's tourism via the spread of Tokyo's charms.”.
Through the interactions among the fans of the animations in the world, it will excite and emotionally move the creators and visitors, and those two feelings will become a ration to spread the new wave of animation from Tokyo to all over the world, which is its objective.
“TAAF2020” will be held in Ikebukuro, Tokyo which was the same venue since 2017. It will showcase of the nominated works of the “Competition Category”, winner of the “Anime of the Year Category”, and invited works from Japan and overseas, an introduction exhibition of the winner of “Anime Honor Category”, a workshop of the highly evaluated “Animation Category for Children”, etc.
Moreover, for the “Competition Category”, the deadline for the application for the short movie and long movie is Oct. 31 and Nov. 10 respectively. The condition that the animation works must be completed after Jan. 1, 2018 is regardless of nationality and professionalism. Further details can be found in “TAAF2020” official website.
