“Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045” is scheduled to be broadcast in Apr. 2020. In addition, the latest trailer, teaser visual, and the story wrapped in a veil of mystery have been announced, along with Tanaka Atsuko (voicing Kusanagi Motoko), Otsuka Akio (voicing Batou), and Yamadera Kouichi (voicing Togusa) joining the main cast.

“Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045” is a full 3DCG animation and the latest installment of the “Ghost in the Shell” series.
It is a co-production between Production I.G and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS, and directed by Kamiyama Kenji (responsible for the previous series “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex”) and Aramaki Shinji (known for the series “APPLESEED”). It will be exclusively broadcast worldwide on Netflix from Apr. 2020.

The main cast includes Tanaka Atsuko (as Kusanagi Motoko ), Otsuka Akio (as Batou), and Yamadera Kouichi (as Togusa). It is the original cast who played the same role in the “Ghost in the Shell S.A.C.” series, rejoining once again in the Public Security Section 9.

In addition, the OP theme for this work will be “millennium parade”, a project by Tsuneta Daiki from King Knu, along with Toda Nobuko and Jinnouchi Kazuma in charge of composing the BGM.

In addition, the main cast including Tanaka, Otsuka, Yamadera, and others, along with the directors Kamiyama and Aramaki will be on stage at the “AnimeJapan 2020” BIRD BLUE STAGE from 14:00 on Mar. 21, during which further information about the production will be announced.

The Public Security Section 9, known as “Ghost in the Shell”, once again led by Kusanagi Motoko, is faced with the appearance of a new dominant species called “Post-Human”, which will bring the world to a “Sustainable War”.

Year 2045. With the outbreak of economic crisis, “global simultaneous default” shaking all nations along with the tremendous progress of AI, the world has entered a systematic yet “Sustainable War”. However, a recession in the near future has yet to be seen, until people realize that the end of mankind extinction due to AI is creeping closer.

The former members of the Public Security Division 9 are Kusanagi Motoko and Batou, cyborgs with a heavily cyberized body who showed their skills as ex-mercenaries on the west coast of the US continent, where ruins lie across civil wars and conflicts. For they who belong to an anti-cybercrime and counter-terrorist organization, and boast outstanding cyber and combat skills, this era is just the beginning of a new world.

A new entity with marvelous intellectual and physical abilities called “Post-Human” suddenly make its appearance facing the cyber unit led by Kusanagi. How are they born and what is their purpose? In the midst of the conspiracy among the great nations, “Ghost in the Shell” is being assembled once again.
