The world's largest doujinshi sale event “Comiket 97” is being held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koutou-ku, Tokyo) from Dec. 28. Exhibitions of corporate booths are taking place at Aomi Exhibition Hall, which was already crowded with fans since the first day. Among all the corners, there was a booth that formed a long line regardless of the fact that only two types of products were on sales.
The corner's name is Tomy booth. The collaboration products that were drawing a lot of attention from the fans are the smartphone app “Nijisanji” that promotes the production of virtual YouTubers (VTubers), and the collectible card game “WIXOSS” on sales at Tomy.
The products on sales at the booth were of two types; the “WIXOSS Limited supply set Nijisanji ver. vol.2” (priced at 3000 JPY, including tax), and the “WIXOSS” expansion pack “Unrealistic” (7000JPY, tax included). With only this line-up, the booth had great success giving evidence of the infinite line in front of it.
The collaboration products have a sale limit of three items for each person, considering that most of the fans were in line for the “Nijisanji ver”. This could be due to the recent popularity of VTubers.
