“Super Dimension Fortress Macross” and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force will collaborate. Two versions of posters depicting VF-1S Valkyrie from “Macross” and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's F-2 Fighter Plane soaring the skies together were released.
This collaboration that crosses over time and space, despite the difference between reality and the animated work was made possible due to both depicting the future and the aim for world peace.
The educational campaign posters include the “「F-2」 Version” which depicts the “VF-1S Valkyrie (Roy Focker's aircraft)” in its fighter form flying in formation with the “F-2”.
Moreover, the “「F-15」 Pattern” depicts the “F-15 Eagle” and the “VF-1S Valkyrie” in its fighter form flying in formation with the “VF-1S” in its Battroid form appearing largely in the background against the blue sky.
In addition, the “VF-1” was created through CG graphics in order to best suit the real view of the sky and the real aircraft.
The well-thought-out and convincing form of “VF-1” despite it being a fictional aircraft, is a powerful sight when seeing flying in formation with the currently active aircrafts “F-2” and “F-15”.
The poster will be distributed exclusively to places such as public transportation facilities, public education facilities and each base of the Japan Air Self-Defense force in late Dec. 2019. In addition, there is a plan to distribute a mini-poster depicting the 2 versions in A4 size for free at “Comic Market 97” at the company's booth.
