A teaser visual and the first PV footage of the animated version “Adachi to Shimamura” (broadcast in 2020) from the original light novel by Iruma Hitoma (known for “Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl” and “Usotsuki Mii‑kun to Kowareta Maa‑chan”) have been announced. In addition, new cast members and the main staff have been revealed.
The anime is originally a light novel series by Iruma Hitoma currently published by Dengeki Bunko. It is a teenage story of an unusual friendship between two female high school students named Adachi and Shimamura met accidentally at the the second floor of the school gym. From that moment they will spend most of the time together by skipping classes and doing whatever they want, but at the same time some changes that build up a distance between them.
Besides Kitou Akari as Adachi and Itou Miku as Shimamura, the cast members also include Numakura Manami as Hino and Ueda Reina as Nagafuji both classmates of Adachi and Shimamura, and Saeki Iori as Chikama Yashiro, a self-proclaimed alien that came from the future.
In addition, the staff includes Kuwabara Satoshi as director (known for various works such as “The Quintessential Quintuplets” and “Dagashi Kashi 2”), Ochi Keiichirou as script director (known for his previous works in “The Quintessential Quintuplets”, “The Demon Girl Next Door” and others), and Kaneko Shizue as character designer (known for “Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us”). Tezuka Productions will be in charge of the animation process.
The TV Anime “Adachi to Shimamura” is scheduled to be released on TBS in 2020.
