In 「The 6th New Chitose Airport International Animation Film Festival」（November 1st～ November 4th）, the nominated films for each category of the 「Short Animation Competition」 were announced. Furthermore, the special program for the animation studio 「TRIGGER」 was decided to be held as its 1st invitation program.

「Short Animation Competition」 is the main event of the festival, and it is a competition for short animations with a 30 minute limit. In order to diversify the experience, applications for VR (360 ° video), GIF animation, and motion comics were accepted from April 15th to June 30th this year.

This year, there were 2,191 entries collected from 84 different countries and regions, which 86 of them were nominated for the 「International Competition」「Japan Competition」「Music Animation Competition」「Student Competition」.
For the 「International Competition」, in addition to 『Acid Rain』winning the Grand Prix in the Zagreb International Animation Film Festival, great works such as 『Manic VR』 which depicts the world of bipolar disorder in VR, 『Enchanchi』in motion comics, GIF animations such as 『Pero』 directed by Sawako Kabuki and 『void』 directed by Masanobu Hiraoka were nominated.

While for the 「Japan Competition」, lineup of works like 『SHISHIGARI』 directed by Oshiyama Kiyotaka who was involved in various works from 「Studio Ghibli」 and the 『Evangelion』 series were nominated. For the 「Music Animation Competition」, famous musics and music videos like （『Tokyo OP』 directed by Kageyama Yukiko）by Quruli and （『Kittone！』 directed by Sivan Kidron） by Kaho Nakamura were nominated.
Nominated works for the 「Feature Competition」 will be announced at a later date.

In addition, a special program featuring 「TRIGGER」, an animation studio that continues to send out original works such as 『Little Witch Academia』 and 『Kill la Kill』 was announced as part of the 1st invitation program.
With Masahiko Otsuka, Hiroyuki Imaishi, Hiromi Wakabayashi and others all from 「TRIGGER」.
Shigeto Koyama who is deeply involved with 「TRIGGER」 as a designer will also be invited, along with 3 programs which are 「Latest theater work『Promare』Explosive Screening＋Stage Greeting」「Studio Talk Program『Featuring Studio TRIGGER』」and 「Professional Talk Designer：Shigeto Koyama」 will be held.

「The 6th New Chitose Airport International Animation Film Festival」 will be held from November 1st to November 4th at the New Chitose Airport Terminal Building in Hokkaido. Advance tickets for the festival and 1DAY passport are on sale at Ticket Pier.
