"Who in the world is the best anime character that suites the word, Evil Emperor?” was surveyed and ranked by the largest ranking information site within the country, “goo ranking.” With 2,719 votes, Frieza from **Dragon Ball** was ranked first, Hakumen no Mono from **Ushio to Tora** (**Ushio and Tora**) was second, and Dio Brando / DIO from **JoJo's Bizarre Adventure** was ranked third.
Frieza in the first place is a familiar character as the villain of the manga known nation-wide **Dragon Ball**. In the latest anime series **DRAGON BALL SUPER**, there was a scene of fighting with the main character, Goku, but in the second series **Dragon Ball Z**, in which he appeared for the first time, he attacked Namek Star in search of Dragon Ball. The appearance of sending Goku and others into fits of despair with his overwhelming fighting power seems to leave a strong impression on the fans as an evil emperor.
Hakumen no Mono in the second place appears as the strongest boss character in the anime, **Ushio to Tora** based on the same-named manga serialized in “Weekly Shonen Sunday". In the final episode, the protagonist, Aotsuki Ushio and Tora in combination fought to death, but the evil aura from the giant fox-like appearance was just right to call it an evil emperor. It is no wonder that it messed around with Ushio and Tora with its strength which is just one of its tails, even if it was chosen as the first place.
Dio Brando / DIO in the third place appears in the anime based on Part 1 "Phantom Blood" and Part 3 "Stardust Crusaders" of the original manga, **JoJo's Bizarre Adventure** series. He is a character that rampages as the evil emperor.
Also, although he doesn't appear in the work, **JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Diamond Is Unbreakble** and **JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Golden Wind**, his existence greatly affects the story. It can be said that he is just a symbol of evil that is indispensable to the series.
In the ranking, Yagami Light from **Death Note** was ranked forth, and Raoh from **Hokuto No Ken** (**Fist of the North Star**) was ranked fifth.
Hyodo Kazutaka from **Gyakkyo Burai Kaiji**, Musca from **Tenku no Shiro Laputa** (**LAPUTA: Castle in the Sky**), Shishio Makoto from **Rurouni Kenshin:Meiji Kenkaku Romantan**, Noroi from **Gamba no Boken**, Donquixote Doflamingo from **ONE PIECE** were also lined up in the top 10.
