New merchandise featuring the Laughing Man and Tachikoma from the TV anime series “Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX” has been announced. Reservations are now open on DMM Factory, a merchandise maker service operated by DMM.com.

“Ghost in the Shell” is a science fiction manga originally serialized by manga artist Shirow Masamune in Kodansha’s Young Magazine Kaizoku Ban from 1989. The story follows Public Security Section 9, commonly known as the Shell Squad, a special task force led by Kusanagi Motoko a.k.a. Major, who has a cyborg body enhanced for cyberwarfare and combat, as they confront increasingly complex and violent crimes.

“Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX” is a TV anime adaptation produced by Production I.G under the direction and series composition of Kamiyama Kenji. It aired for 26 episodes from October 2002 to November 2003. The series continues to expand, with the latest installment, “Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045,” currently streaming worldwide, exclusively on Netflix. A new TV anime series produced by Science SARU is scheduled to air in 2026.

Among the newly released merchandise, the “Faux Leather Shoulder Bag (Laughing Man ver.)” is a mini-sized faux leather shoulder bag featuring the Laughing Man symbol. The simple design is accented by a silver metal fitting on the front and an embossed line reading “or should I?” added by the Laughing Man in the show. The interior fabric also incorporates design elements that are reminiscent of the anime.

The “All-Over Print Shirt,” also featuring the Laughing Man, has a fresh white-on-blue design. Available in sizes M and L, it’s perfect for everyday wear.

The “Faux Leather Tote Bag (Tachikoma ver.)” is a faux leather tote bag featuring an all-over embossed design of Tachikoma, the multi-leg robot equipped with AI used by Public Security Section 9. The shoulder strap, front side seams, and interior fabric are all colored with Tachikoma blue, giving the bag a simple yet playful design. This bag is perfect for everyday use with ample space to fit A4-sized file folders and even a laptop.

The prices, including tax, are as follows: 7,150 JPY for the “Faux Leather Shoulder Bag (Laughing Man ver.)”, 8,250 JPY for the “Faux Leather Tote Bag (Tachikoma ver.)”, and 9,900 JPY for the “All-Over Print Shirt (M/L)”.
