From “Dragon Ball” Goku, Gohan (Beast) and Orange Piccolo pop out from inside “Chocolate”?! Shokugan “Surprise in Choco-Capsule” Vol.1

“Surprise in Choco-Capsule Dragon Ball” is the first in Bandai’s new “Surprise in Choco-Capsule” toy series, which became available in candy stores nationwide from October 23, 2023.

“Dragon Ball” is based on the international hit comic series by Toriyama Akira, which was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” from 1984 to 1995. It has sold an astounding 260 million copies worldwide and has been adapted into animated TV series, movies, video games, and other commercial products.

Starting with the TV animation “Dragon Ball” broadcast in 1986, the series has continued with “Dragon Ball Z,” “Dragon Ball GT,” “Dragon Ball Kai,” and “Dragon Ball Super,” with the latest movie “Dragon Ball Super Hero” which was released in 2022. It is still a strong fan favorite.

The new “Surprise in Choco-Capsule” is a new toy series based on the concept that “just tasty is boring” and it is the new series from Shokugan that offers the excitement of not knowing what will come out of the 52 mm diameter chocolate capsule.

The lineup includes a total of 16 figures, including two secret figures such as Son Goku, Son Gohan (Beast), Orange Piccolo, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Gogeta, and Super Saiyan Broly (Full Power). Despite their miniature size (approximately 45mm in height), the figures thoroughly pursue the reproduction of muscle expressions and fine details.

A “diorama pedestal” that recalls scenes from the series is also included, adding to the power and dynamism of the figures.

The “Surprise in Choco-Capsule Dragon Ball”, which come in two flavors, white chocolate and milk-flavored chocolate, went on sale on October 23 for 308 yen each (tax included).
