The 5th series of “Sumikko Gurashi Aquarium”, aquarium exclusive designs of “Sumikko Gurashi”, were announced to be released at aquariums throughout Japan from April 20, 2023. The theme is “Fuwafuwa Sumikko Gurashi Aquarium”.

“Sumikko Gurashi” is a character series by San-X under the theme of “Being in the corner is somehow soothing.” The somewhat negative but unique “Sumikko” characters and their world has fascinated all generations from children to adults and they celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2022.

Animation films have also been produced. The first film “Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: The Unexpected Picture Book and the Secret Child” was released in 2019, and the second film “Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: The Little Wizard in the Blue Moonlight” was in 2021. A third film is in the works to be released in Japanese theaters in 2023.

“Sumikko Gurashi Aquarium” Series 5 features cute designs of the Sumikkos dressed up as sea creatures under the theme of “Fuwafuwa Sumikko Gurashi Aquarium”.
Shirokuma dresses up as an axolotl, Penguin? as a sea angel, Tonkatsu as a porcupinefish, Neko as a sea slug, Tokage as a lost baby whale and a lost baby seal, Tapioca (yellow) as a Japanese pancake devilfish, and Ebifurai No Shippo as an octopus.
The items include a “Clear Holder Set (set of 2)”, “Stickers”, “Pen Pouch”, “Min Towel”, “Hanging Plushy”, and “Fluffy Plushy”.

The aquarium exclusive “Sumikko Gurashi” designs, “Sumikko Gurashi Aquarium” Series 5 will be available at aquariums throughout Japan from April 20, 2023.
