“One Piece”, “The Witch from Mercury” Which trended on the Internet in 2022!? Nominated phrase of “100 Trend’s Net Phrases” reveald

The joint project of Pixiv and Dwango “100 Trend’s Net Phrases” to decide on the phrase, based on the accesses to the respective phrase webpage on “Pixiv Encyclopedia” and “Nico Nico Encyclopedia” that is managed by the respective company, that trended the most on the internet this year has been announced. Prior to the announcement of the overall ranking and “Annual Winner” on December 12, 2022, the 100 nominated phrases, such as “One Piece”, “The Witch from Mercury”, and “Yukkuri Chabangeki (Low comedy at one’s pleasure)”, have been revealed.

“100 Trend’s Net Phrases” started in 2018, and it is a project that is being held for the 5th time this year. The live broadcast of the award ceremony that was held on Nico Nico Live Broadcast has garnered 320,000 viewers last year.

For this year as well, the award ceremony of “100 Trend’s Net Phrases” on December 12 will invite the individuals and groups that are affiliated to the 100 nominated phrases as they will announce the overall ranking and the annual winner. Other than that, “Nico Nico Award” based on the survey of “What’s the trended phrase” by the Nico Nico users, and “Pixiv Award” chosen from the numerous tag(phrase) that have the most posts in Pixiv when compare to 2021, will also be decided.

For the 2022 nominations, various affiliated phrases to “Weekly Shonen Jump” and “Shonen Jump+”, such as the popular “One Piece” where the movie premiered in August was a big hit and the original manga had entered its final arc, “Spy x Family”, “Chainsaw Man”, and “Takopi’s Original Sin” can be seen. Other than the usual annual phrases, such as “Pokémon” where “Pokémon Legends: Arceus” released in January 2022, and “Ultraman” where the movie “Shin Ultraman” premiered in May, words related to the TV anime “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury” that started broadcast in October, are also trending on the Internet.

Among the various nominated works and characters that are known by anyone, the familiar powerful phrases among Nico Nico and Pixiv users, such as “Iindesuka, Ochitsuite Kiite Kudasai (Listen here, please calm down and hear me out)”, “Takopi OniTsuee! (Takopi is too strong)”, and “Romance no Kamisama Face Dance (Face Dance of the Romance God)” could also be seen. These are the 100 phrases unique to Dwango and Pixiv which had generally reflected the “Internet’s Trend” this year.

The award ceremony of “100 Trend’s Net Phrases” 2022 will welcome the voice actor Konishi Katsuyuki and freelancer announcer Mori Haruka as the host, and it will be held live on Nico Nico Live Broadcast at 7:00 PM, December 12.
