“Gin Tama” is an animated TV and film series based on the manga by Sorachi Hideaki, which is serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” and has sold more than 55 million copies in total.
The story unfolds in Edo, where values have suddenly changed with the arrival of the Tennin (aliens), “Gintama” is a painful entertainment filled with heartwarming gags, spectacular action, humanity, and bonds of friendship.
The series was adapted into a TV anime in 2006 and has been broadcast for 13 years since then, reaching its final episode in October 2018 with episode 367. As for the film version of the anime, “Gintama the Movie: A New Retelling Benizakura Arc” was released in 2010, “Gintama the Movie: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya” was released in 2013, written by the original author Sorachi Hideaki, and “Gintama the Final” was released in 2021, which depicted the last part of the original work.
On March 19, 2023, “Gintama After Festival 2023 (tentative)” will be held to mark the culmination of the “Gintama” anime series.
