September 11 of this year is “Family Karaoke Day”.
It is an anniversary that was established on the second Saturday of September every year as a day to spread karaoke as a place for family communication. In 2021 it is September 11.
There are many characters in anime and games with who it would be nice to go to karaoke. Some of them are good at singing, with someone it is great to have fun together, or maybe there were episodes related to karaoke…
Here at Anime!Anime!, we conducted a reader survey entitled “Which character would you like to go to karaoke with?” We received responses from 152 people during the survey period from August 27 to September 3.
The male-female ratio is about 25% for males and about 75% for females. About 50% of the age group were teens, and about 30% were in their 20s.
■ Multiple characters with tone-deafness are ranked in!
1st place
1st place is shared between Edogawa Conan and Mori Ran from “Detective Conan” and Sakata Gintoki from “Gintama” with an approval rating of about 6%.
Conan has excellent deduction abilities but is bad at singing. Many readers wanted to experience Conan’s singing in real life, “I want to sing together with Conan, who both he himself and others admit as being that he is bad, and have a different type of fan (laughs).”, and “I would like to hear how bad Conan is, who is famous for his poor singing. Sorry, but I might laugh…”
On the other hand, comments for the heroine Mori Ran are, “She is playing piano, so she has been growing up with music.”, and “The scene of the duet with Sonoko in the karaoke box was cute.”
Sakata Gintoki from “Gintama” used his voice several times to rise up the mood, like singing “Doraemon no Uta” or performing “Sen no Kaze ni Natte” in the ED. Readers commented on having fun together, “Just imagining of going to karaoke with Gin-san is already exciting.”, and “Although it would be bad, it also would be groovy.” Some readers also pointed on what a sweettooth he is, “He seems to prefer eating and drinking to singing. I think he will definitely order parfaits and sweets.”
■Let’s introduce other comments!
For Itadori Yuji from “Jujutsu Kaisen”, “Because Itadori has karaoke as a hobby in his profile. I think it would be absolutely fun to sing together!”
For Jashin-chan from “Dropkick on My Devil!”, “Because her singing in the enka performance scene was wonderful, I definitely want her to sing.”
For Suzumiya Haruhi from “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya”, “The scene when she sang 2 songs on the cultural festival was memorable. The scene of long-term endurance karaoke in the episode titled Endless Eight also seems fun.”
About Gian from “Doraemon”, a character famous for his tone-deafness, “I want to experience Gian recital live to test my courage, just as a topic of conversation.”
In this survey, not only characters who are good at singing, but also characters who are awful in it are ranked in multiple ranks. The result is that all the characters have impressive singing voices, good or bad.
