The manga artist Kayaharuka-san, who was in charge of the manga of “The Misfit of Demon King Academy” has passed away on July 6, 2021.
“The Misfit of Demon King Academy” is based on the academy fantasy light novel written by Shuu and illustrated by Shizuma Yoshinori. The first season of the anime was broadcast in July 2020, and it was decided that the 2nd season will be broadcast in two cour.
The manga by Kaya-san has started serialization in July 2018, on Square Enix’s online manga application “Manga UP!”.
The obituary of Kaya-san was announced on the official website of “Manga UP!” on July 13.
On the report of the said website, “We would like to announced that the manga artist Kayaharuka-sensei that was loved by the readers had passed away on July 6, 2021. ” followed with “We are speechless from this sudden news. As Kayaharuka-sensei has drawn the charming illustrations with the skills and passion, we are regretting over this news. All of us from the editorial department are grateful for the illustration drawn by Kayaharuka-sensei as well as hoping that sensei soul can rest in peace.”
Also, after the obituary was announced, the words, such as “Kayaharuka-san”, “Haruka-san’s Death”, and “The Misfit of Demon King Academy”, have become a trend on Twitter.
