It was decided that “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” will be released in Japan in 2022. This film is the latest addition to the popular Hollywood film series, “Transformers” which has accumulated over 530 billion JPY worldwide.
The first film of the “Transformers” series was released in 2007, where Michael Bay served as the director and Steven Spielberg as the executive producer. After that, the film has become a series, and this series with 6 works has become a big hit as it has recorded a total of 4.847 billion USD (approximately 530 billion JPY) in terms of worldwide box office revenue.
It has been four years since the previous film, but the latest film of the “Transformers” series will be released in 2022 with the title of “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts”.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who has handled the production of the past films, will be handling the production of this work as well, and the director is Steven Caple Jr. (“Creed II”). The actors for this film are Anthony Ramos (the main lead of the popular work “In the Heights” in North America) and Dominique Fishback, who played an important role in “Judas and the Black Messiah” that got nominated in the recent Academy Awards.
Also, this is the first film where the keyword “Beasts” was used in the title. As this keyword reminds fans of the popular TV animation “Beast Wars: Transformers”, which caused a storm due to its full 3DCG, it makes wonder if the Beasts will be participating in “Transformers”. So, do look forward to future announcements.
