Exploring secrets of Shinkai Makoto’s “movie literature”…Eight years have passed since the release of “The Garden of Words”, and “Art book” will be on sale!
The literature that contains over 140 background designs of “The Garden of Words” by Shinkai Makoto will be released 8 years after the movie’s release. It will be in stores from June 24, 2021.
“Director Shinkai Makoto’s Work The Garden of Words Artbook” contains selected 140+ artworks, including the garden in Shinjuku, Tokyo’s scenary, and the in-room designs that the breath of humans can be felt, together with the comments of director Shinkai and Takeguchi Hiroshi art director looking back on that time.
Not only does it contain the long interview, the project proposal, opinion paper, the art and coloring idea by director Shinkai to go through the production process, the making process of “Takao Design Shoes”, and the picture content of the ending theme song “Kotonoha” are contained. The additional printing is already decided even before the release, and this will solve the mystery of director Shinkai Makoto’s “movie literature”.
“Director Shinkai Makoto’s Work The Garden of Words Artbook” is priced at 2,970 JPY (tax included) and will be released on June 24.
