Which anime/manga would you like to be released as a Hollywood’s live-action adaptation? The answer ‘None’ beat “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” and “Attack on Titan”, topping the overall ranking.

As “One Piece” will be live-action series on Netflix, viviane inc., which is running ‘1 Screen’ where you can look up streaming videos all at once, conducted an online-survey ‘Which anime/manga would you like to be released as a Hollywood’s live-action adaptation next?’, on 1,000 people.

This survey targeted at men and women aged 10 – 69 years nationwide, who answered that they ‘use video streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video on a daily basis’.
This survey was conducted in response to “One Piece “‘s upcoming live-action adaptation, so this work was not covered.

The answer that topped the ranking was ‘None’ with 456 votes, which amounted to 45.6% of all.
The reasons given from the respondents include, ‘Anime would be better to just stay as anime’, ‘the original world-view could be ruined’, ‘Most works are not suitable for live-action’, ‘A live-action adaptation could destroy our dream’, and ‘Only a few genres are suitable for live-action, so such works have already been produced as a live-action series. If it were made in a different style, it would be ok’.

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” came 2nd place.
The reasons given from the respondents include, ‘It would be a big business’, ‘I want to see how faithfully it could be reproduced with modern technology’, ‘I have an idea of perfect cast members’, and ‘I want to see action and horror scenes produced by professional creators’.

“Attack on Titan” came 3rd place with 48 votes.
‘Hollywood would be able to reproduce it with an extremely powerful world-view’, ‘The appearance of the characters are likely to match Hollywood actors’, and ‘The name of the characters are not very Japanesey. The original manga has been finished’.
