The ‘Complete Works Complete Records’ series by khara Inc. will be publishing a new edition featured in ‘Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo’. The new edition is titled ‘Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo Complete Record Visual Story Version’, and it will be released in late June 2021.

The ‘Complete Records Complete Works’ series is a grand collection of material regarding the production of the film. As can be seen in the title, it consists of as many materials as possible from the film. ‘Visual Story Version’ includes lines and scene visuals from all the scenes in story order, and ‘Setting Material Version’ contains materials that help readers understand the story in-depth, such as a synopsis depicting details of the weapons and backgrounds, image boards, artboards, and broad Computer Graphic materials.

‘Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo Complete Record Visual Story Version’ is the 4th softcover edition from the ‘Complete Records Complete Works’ series, following the 1st volume ‘Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone’ and the 2nd ‘Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance’.
The new edition consists of the ‘Q:3.333’ version, in which all the scenes are retaken in 2021 with 2K resolution. All the scenes and the lines from the retaken version are condensed in the book, and results in a book that reflects the staff’s intention more in detail.

khara Inc. also adopted high-saturation printing by Dai Nippon Printing, which allows the book to have a closer color gamut to RGB rather than CMYK. The cover uses an illustration by Takeshi Honda, the director of ‘Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo’, and the book comes with a B4 size pin-up of the same illustration.

‘Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo Complete Record Visual Story Version’ will be released in late June for 3,500 Japanese Yen (tax excluded). ‘Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo Complete Record Setting Material Version’ is also in production.
