March 10 is “Satou no Hi” (Sugar Day).

It was established based on a wordplay of 3 (Sa) and 10 (Tou).

Sugar is very sweet and characters with “sweet voices” that melt your heart are super popular in anime. Everyone has a different taste for sweets. So, who will the anime fans choose as the voice actor with the “sweetest voice”?

Anime!Anime! conducted the same readers’ survey as two years ago asking, “Which Voice Actor Has a Sweet Voice?” There were 215 votes during the survey period from February 19 to 26. The voters were mostly female with a gender ratio of 80% female to 20% male, and the age range was on the younger side with 40% under 20 and 40% in their 20s.

These are the results for male voice actors.

■Sweet voices are diverse. Many popular voice actors made the list!
1st Place
Topping the list is Kimura Ryouhei-san with roughly 15% of the votes.

He received comments such as, “His diverse, sweet sugary voice for different situations is amazing,” and “His voices in drama CDs for women are all sweet and sexy.”
Some fans praised his performance as certain creatures like, “I love his sweet voice as the demon king and vampire,” and “His voice from the dubbing of a cat video was too cute for me.”

2nd Place
Coming in 2nd was Kamiya Hiroshi-san with roughly 14% of the votes.

Kamiya Hiroshi-san has played many characters with long lines and monologs. He also is the narrator for various programs.
Fascinated fans say, “When listening to Kamiya-san’s lines, it gradually makes me feel comfortable,” and “I can’t resist the mysterious charm of him playing eccentric characters.”

3rd Place
Fukuyama Jun-san took 3rd place with roughly 8% of the votes.

He received comments such as, “He has played various characters, but they all have that comfortable and soft sweetness to their voices,” and “I love his smooth voice that naturally melts into my heart.” There was also a fan commenting on a certain character, “I love the voice of Panda from ‘Shirokuma Cafe’.”

In the male voice actor category, many popular voice actors who are at the forefront of the industry made the list. It was a close contest with 8 voice actors tying at 20th place, showing us the diversity of voices that people think are “sweet”.
