Which spring 2020 anime theme song is your favorite? 【ED edition】 "IDOLiSH7" at 3rd, "Kaguya-sama" at 2nd, and 1st place goes to…

A month has passed since the start of the spring 2020 animes.

Animes are not only about the main story, but also the theme songs that compress the world of the anime in a minute and a half. As always, there are a variety of songs of this season, but which is the song that grasped the hearts of the fans the most?

To answer this question, we at Anime!Anime! have conducted a survey asking, “Which spring 2020 anime theme song is your favorite?” We received 228 votes during the voting period of May 3 through May 10. The gender ratio was leaning towards females with 40% male to 60% female, and most of them were on the younger side with 40% being under 19 and 30% in their 20s.

Here are the results of the ED themes.

■The top was taken by the theme song of “Kakushigoto”
1st place goes to “Kimi wa Tennenshoku” by Ootaki Eiichi for “Kakushigoto: My Dad's Secret Ambition” with roughly 15% of the votes.

This long-hit song was released in 1981, and is also known for being used for a commercial. “I felt that the slow and refreshing song well matched the surreal and heartwarming everyday life of 'Kakushigoto',” was one of the comments it received. Another comment, “I chose this song because I like the song but also because I like the colors of the animation!” shows that the ED animation was also popular.

Coming in 2nd was “Kaze ni Fukarete” by Fukuhara Haruka from “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” with roughly 10% of the vote.

Some comments pointed out how emotional the song is, “The song depicts Kaguya's feelings, and it makes me wish for such a happy future,” and “The lyrics seem to express Kaguya-sama and it touched my heart”.
Fukuhara-san also voices one of the characters in the anime, adding to the work's excitement as a voice actress and a singer.

3rd place went to “Mirai Notes wo Kanadete” by Re:vale from
“IDOLiSH7: Second BEAT!” with roughly 9% of the vote.

Fans praised the singing voices of Momo (voiced by Hoshi Souichirou) and Yuki (voiced by Tachibana Shinnosuke) with comments such as, “The chemistry between the two voices of Re:vale fascinates me,” and “I love their harmonious voices.” It shows how many fans were waiting for Re:vale to appear in the anime.
The ED animation was also well received for its white-based transparent images.

When the votes were separated by gender, “Kakushigoto” came in 1st, “Kaguya-sama” at 2nd, and “Princess Connect! Re:Dive” at 3rd for male votes, and “IDOLiSH7” at 1st, “Kakushigoto” at 2nd, and “Kaguya-sama” at 3rd for female votes.

■Here are some comments for other songs!!
