On Apr. 3, 2020 the long-awaited sequel to “Tiger & Bunny” was announced under the title “Tiger & Bunny 2”. In response to this announcement, “TiBunny Season 2” started trending on Twitter. Fans raised their voices in joy: “Congratulations on the 2nd season of TiBunny! I'm looking forwards to seeing all the heroes again!”, “Thanks for the second season, and also thank you!”

“Tiger & Bunny” is an original action hero anime that released as a TV series in 2011, and had two theatrical releases in 2012 and 2014 respectively. The new series will see several people resuming their previous roles, the role of Kaburagi T. Kotetsu will be resumed by Hirata Hiroaki and the role of Barnaby Brooks Jr. by Morita Mazakazu. Nishida Masafumi will once again function as the story editor, and Katsura Masakazu will again be in charge of Character & Hero Designer. In addition to the announcement of the team members who will be returning for Season 2, new members will also be joining the fray, like new director Kase Mitsuko.

Some comments also pointed out some coincidences regarding the two main characters and their “tiger” and “bunny” theming. “The first season aired during the year of the rabbit, and season 2 is airing during the year of the tiger! “Tiger & Bunny 2” will start airing in 2022.
