The comedy manga “Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo”, which was serialized on “Weekly Shonen Jump” by Sawai Yoshio, had hijacked the “Shonen Jump+” app on Apr. 1, 2020. It was a one-day-only “Hajike Festival” which brought back the collaboration manga by Ooba Tsugumi-san and Obata Takeshi san, and the “Legendary Popularity Poll”.
“Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo” is one of the leading comedy mangas of “Shonen Jump” in the 2000s. During the “Hajike Festival”, “Shonen Jump+” had a special design of “Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo” and had 8 chapters selected from the story.
A special collaboration of Sawai Yoshio-san writing “DEATH NOTE”, and Ooba Tsugumi-san and Obata Takeshi-san writing “Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo” also reappeared for the day, along with the “Legendary Popularity Poll”, which became a big topic since all the choices were the protagonist Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.
Many people reacted to this and the “Legendary Character Popularity Poll” trended on Twitter. Everyone enjoyed the “Hajike Festival” and posted comments on Twitter such as, “Since it's the Legendary Character Popularity Poll, I wondered who the choices would be. Anyway, I was like, 'Well, I might as well vote for Bo-bobo,' and went to the page to find out that the choices were all Bo-bobo! LMAO Thanks for the fun!”, “I chose my favorite Bo-bobo!”, “Last time I voted for Bo-bobo, but he wasn't a match against Bo-bobo nor even Bo-bobo and that was so disappointing. I hope Bo-bobo will win this time.”
“Commemoration of the Hajike Festival! Character Popularity Poll”, aka the “Legendary Popularity Poll” announced its results at 6 pm on Apr. 1. Which Bo-bobo made it to the top…? Go check the results with your own eyes.
