What is your highly anticipated Spring 2020 Anime? Popular series such as "SAO" and "Kaguya-sama" had taken the top rank! The first place goes to…

March is coming soon. Although the current broadcasting works will end soon, we can't ignore the line of the new works in the approaching Spring.

In Apr., when the most TV anime broadcast are released every year, there are a lot of interesting titles from popular series and original work. Among those, which anime had caught the attention from the passionate fans?

At Anime!Anime!, we had conducted a reader survey on “What is your highly anticipated Spring 2020 Anime?”. We had received 337 responses between the survey periods of Mar. 2 to Mar. 9.
There are more female respondents as you can see 35% of the responses came from male while 65% are from female. The age distribution has shown mostly young people : 35% are from under 19 years old and 30% are from 20's.

■”Ainana” Season2 takes the first place! The new unit is the highlights
1st place is “Idolish7 Second BEAT!” with asupport rating of approximately 20%.

It is the second season of anime which is basing on the popular smartphone game application. We have received several comments that depict the fans' anticipation toward this new series such as “It was great that season 1 followed faithfully to the first part of the game. I can't wait to see how it will be depicted because the second part is filled with the solid story of “Ainana”. “I had a high expectation toward it as the quality of episode 1 that was screened in advance was quite good”. Moreover, we had also received comments regarding their expectation toward the upperclassman unit, “I can't wait for it as my favorite Re:vale will finally appear in season 2!”.

2nd place is “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” with the support rating of about 10%.

This is the season 2 of the school love comedy that is serialized in “Weekly Young Jump”. “I can’t wait to see the love mental battle between Kaguya and Shirogane following season 1!” which show the interactions between the character are popular. There are also some comments regarding the casts, “'Kaguya-sama' will be surely interesting as it features the Best Actress in a Leading Role, Koga Aoi-san and Best Actors in Supporting Roles, Furukawa Makoto-san.”

3rd place is “Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World (Season 2)” with the support rating of about 8%.

This is the season 2 of TV anime based on the famous light novel. Despite it was announced that the broadcast will be delayed due to the Coronavirus on Mar. 9, the deadline for this survey, it still received a lot of votes. We had received comments such as “I am touched by his action to protect his precious person by utilizing his rebirth power” and “I am looking forward to it after watching the remastered version.”

Moreover, 4th place is “Sword Art Online War of Underworld -THE LAST SEASON-“. “It the climax part of the series longest Alicization arc” and “I am looking forward to the awaken Kirito!” depict the fans' expectation toward the awakening scene of the protagonist.

For the male-only rating, 1st place is “Re:Zero”, 2nd place is “Kaguya-sama”, 3rd place is “SAO”. For the female-only rating, 1st place is “Idolish7”, 2nd place is “Kaguya-sama” while the 3rd place is “SAO”.

■Let's introduce the other commentary
Regarding “Major Second (Season 2)”, “As the middle school arc focused on the female baseball club, we will be able to look at a different aspect of Major. I am looking forward to it as the casts are also extravagant.”
Regarding “My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected. Fin”, “I am happy to be able to see those interesting characters in the anime again. Moreover, as this is the finale for the series, I can't wait for it.”

We had also received several comments regarding the sequel for the long-awaited series, “Mashin Hero Wataru Shichikon no Ryuujinmaru”, such as “The voice actor continue with their role. The staff such as the director and character designer are also those who have deep respect toward the old work”.
