Feb. 27 is Takahashi Rie’s birthday.
Takahashi Rie made her debut in the 2010s. She won the Best Rookie Actress Award at the 10th Seiyu Awards. In 2019, she performed in popular series such as, “Skilled Teaser Takagi 2” and “KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! Legend of Crimson”. In 2020, she played the main character in titles such as, “Kakushigoto” and “LISTENERS”.
To celebrate Takahashi Rie’s birthday, here at Anime!Anime! we conducted a reader survey asking “Who is your favorite character played by her?”, followed by the same survey held the previous year. During the survey period between Feb. 12 to Feb. 19, a total of 162 responses were received.
There were more male respondents with the gender ratio being 70% male and 30% female. The age group was about 45% for those under the age of 19, and about 30% for those in their 20s, mainly focusing on youngsters.
■ Characters from popular series dominate the top 3!
The 1st place goes to Megumin from “KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World!” with approximately 30% of the votes, keeping her position from the last year.
We received comments from fans that praised how Takahashi-san’s voice suits perfectly with the character’s image of Megumin, an Arch Wizard of the Crimson Demon Clan; “This is the character who introduced me to Takahashi-san. I like how she plays the role in a cute and humorous way.”, and “I feel like Megumin is the closest character to Takahashi’s voice. She seems to enjoy playing her”.
Another reason why fans thought that she perfectly suits for the role, was her obsession with casting Explosion spells, “Her idea of using Explosion magic fits with her image”. This character from a popular work, which the movie version was released in 2019, ranked on the top.
The 2nd place goes to Takagi-san from “Skilled Teaser Takagi” with approximately 20% of the votes.
Many fans were attracted by her when she is teasing her classmate Nishikata, “I was impressed by the fact that even the lines that might sound malicious are performed in a lovely and refreshing way!”, and “There is no other work that reminds me so much of the romance during my past school days. I thought many times… How would it be if I were in the same class of Takagi-san?”.
Season 2 was broadcast in 2019. The viewers fell in love again with her saying, “I fell in love with the new Takagi-san, who has become more honest and cute than in the first season”.
The 3rd place goes to Emilia from “Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World” with approximately 15% of the votes.
We received various comments about the heroine of this work such as, “That clear and lovely voice is perfect for the beautiful Emilia”, and “A classic beautiful girl. She is cute when she repeats what Subaru says to confirm she heard it correctly”. Same as last year, many fans loved her nickname “E.M.T” (Emilia-tan Maji Tenshi). Season 2 is scheduled to be broadcast from Apr. 2020.
■ Let’s introduce other comments!!
Asahina Mirai from “Witchy PreCure!”, “She is cute, cheerful, and full of energy. Her favorite phrase “Wakuwaku monda~a!” (This is so exciting!”) makes me fun”.
Naoki Miki from “School-Live!”, “Although she is the only one who is a year below the other girls in the School Living Club, I like the fact that I cannot feel that difference because of her matureness”.
Kobayashi from “Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace”, “He is extremely attractive, and he is the character who introduced me to Takahashi-san from the end credits”, and “She was able to do a great job playing the role of a girly boy”.
Ernesti Echavalier from “Knight's & Magic”, “Eru-kun’s ‘intellectual curiosity” comes out with Takahashi Rie’s performance. She has an established reputation for voicing young boys, and I think he is my favorite one among them”.
