Voice actress Uchida Maaya will play herself in the live-action "Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku"! Live scene of the original songs also revealed

The voice actress Uchida Maaya will play herself in the live-action “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” (premiered on Feb. 7, 2020). She will appear in a live scene as voice actress idol, performing various original songs such as “Koi no Hatsunetsu” (written by Oikawa Neko and Sagisu Shiro as musical composer).

“Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” is originally a WEB manga serialized on the illustration communication service “pixiv” from 2014. The manga is focused on a charming pure love story between a “fujoshi” (female fan of male-male romance narratives), anda game otaku. After drawing a lot of attention from the fans, an animated version has been produced in Apr. 2018.

Regarding the live-action movie, besides Fukuda Yuichi as director (known for his previous works such as “Yuusha Yoshihiko to Maou no Shiro”, “Gin Tama”, and “Kyou Kara Ore Wa!!”), cast members include Takahata Mitsuki, Yamazaki Kento, Saitou Takumi, Nanao, Kaku Kento, Muro Tsuyoshi, and Satou Jirou.

Uchida Maaya is a well-known voice actress who performed various roles in the past such as Takanashi Rikka in “Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions”, and Kanzaki Ranko in “The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls”. However, this time she will play the role of herself as a voice actress idol that the “voice actor idol otaku” played by Kaku Kento is crazed about.

In addition, for the live scene, Uchida Maaya will perform her song “Gimme! Revolution” and the original song from the movie “Koi no Hatsunetsu” (written by Oikawa Neko and Sagisu Shiro as musical composer).
The original song by Oikawa as songwriter (known for “A Cruel Angel's Thesis”), and Sagisu as musical composer (known for his work in “Neon Genesis Evangelion”), coupled with Uchida's singer skills becomes a “killer tune” that you will never forget after hearing it.

The live-action movie “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” is scheduled to be released nationwide on Feb. 7, 2020.
