Japanese anime character licence business, “MUSE” attended the exhibition in “C3AFA Singapore 2019”, which is the one of the largest anime event in Southeast Asia, from Nov. 29 to Dec.1. (3 days)
“MUSE”'s head office is in Taiwan, and so far they created branch offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai, and in Mar. 2019, they created the branch office in Singapore. They are already successful in Chinese region, and has high expectation toward Southeast Asia for more discovery. The GM (General Manager) of the branch office in Singapore, Mr Jeff Lee Chien-Fu signified the importance of setting up a branch in Singapore, “This is a branch that is set up to conquer the whole Southeast Asia”. He mentioned eagerly that they will attend with a bigger booth starting next year so they are able to spread their existence in Southeast Asia.
The business has a YouTube channel that airs anime that they have a copyright. Their target is to create an opportunity to watch anime in legal way for fans, in order to make them want to buy anime goods. “By bringing legal goods into the market, I want to prosper the anime licence business in Southeast Asia.” (Mr. Jeff Lee Chien-Fu)
Their booth had multiple anime goods from popular Japanese Anime, including, “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” and “Sword Art Online: Alicization”. Not only in Singapore but in Southeast Asia itself, anime aired in Japan is gaining popularity as those shows are aired almost at the same time. “Anime connects people regardless of border or race.” (Mr. Jeff Lee Chien-Fu)
The company not only sells their own original licensed goods, but also sells licensed goods from other companies by their subsidiary company called “Hakken”. The company believes that now is the time to expand anime goods market in Southeast Asia.
