The "Doraemon Movie Festival 2020" is being held next year in commemoration of the release of "Doraemon: Nobita's New Dinosaur", the 40th entry in the movie series. Movies will be shown from Feb. 1 to Mar. 5 for 34 days at Jinbocho Theater.
The serialization of the manga "Doraemon" began in Jan. 1970, with Jan. 2020 marking the 50th anniversary . In addition, the first "Doraemon Movie" was released in Mar. 1980 as "Nobita's Dinosaur", and the release of the newest movie"Doraemon: Nobita's New Dinosaur" on Mar. 6th, 2020 marks a total of 40 works in the movie series.
This movie festival will be showing all 39 of the previous works in the film series, including the 14 original works by Fujiko F. Fujio, leading all the way up to the release of the new movie. Movies that were released before 2010 will be shown on 35mm film.
The "Doraemon Movie Festival 2020" will have showings from Feb. 1 ~ Mar. 5 at Jinbocho Theater.
