「AKIRA」 miniQ Figure Series Pop-Up Store Announced! “2.5D x Reality” Art Postcards Also Make A Splash!

A pop-up store commemorating the release of the 『AKIRA』themed mini-figures 「mini Q『AKIRA』PART.1」 will open on Nov. 20th, 2019 at 「Art and Design Store」, Roppongi Hills.

Additionally, 「AKIRA in A.D. 2019 REAL-TOKYO」 art photo postcards that “realistically blend the overwhelmingly lively figures into the city of Tokyo ” have also been prepared as a limited bonus at the store.

「mini Q『AKIRA』PART.1」 are mini-figures that incorporate the world of Otomo Katsuhiro’s 『AKIRA』 The 『AKIRA』 series was an incredible hit amidst previous items released by Kaiyodo. This series is now currently being updated, and is planned to be released in succession from Fall 2019 onwards.

To commemorate this release at the pop-up store, an art photo postcard utilizing the work of modern art photographer Koga Manabu will be given to each purchaser of a six-item 1BOX.

In these photos, scenes such as Takashi (No. 26) standing in Shinjuku, where the voices of demonstrators calling to “Cancel the Tokyo Olympics” can be heard, demonstrate the “realistic blending of the overwhelmingly lively figures into the city of Tokyo”.

The 「mini Q『AKIRA』Release Commemorative Pop-Up Store」 will be held from Nov. 20th to Dec. 1st, 2019 at 「Art and Design Store」, Roppongi Hills.
