Creators of 「Knights of Sidonia」, Polygon Pictures has announced in-house rendering software “PPixel”.

It was announced that Polygon Pictures, one of the largest digital animation studios in Japan known by 「Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters」 and 「Knights of Sidonia」, has developed rendering software

PPixel is an in-house rendering software specializing in NPR (non-photorealistic rendering), such as the “Cell Look CG” style that expresses 3DCG like a cell (hand-drawn) animation.

It has become an indispensable tool for exploring new video expressions that have been developed in order to explore unique looks and style expressions in more and more diverse video expressions in recent years.

In addition to making CG technology develop, the company is trying to utilize rapidly developing IT technology for video production effectively .
The company will continue to promote the enhancement of compatibility between advanced IT technology and CG video production by partially producing in-house software necessary for high-end video production .
